Drumheller FunTeam HockeyEmery Eddy2022 Nicky Sereda Outstanding Participant Award RecipientAt 14 years old Emery has fully embodied what it means to be a FunTeam member and while he is described as quiet, his actions speak volumes to the stand out person he is. |
|
Emery, 14, has been a part of Drumheller FunTeam hockey since 2012 and has grown over the last 10 years into a role model and a true sportsman. He is respectful to all of his teammates, coaches, officials and all the parents never letting the outcome of the game effect his enjoyment of the game. Emery is always willing to get involved, helping when the team runs a fundraiser, cleans up and assists with equipment before and after games and is always very encouraging and positive. It's hard to pick just one reason or instance that demonstrates Emery as a worthy recipient but his nomination explains one scenario that sticks out and is worth sharing: Emery has always helped with refereeing the Rookie games in Drumheller but last season went another step further by helping coach - helping the participants with their skating. Of the 22 sessions that the team had, Emery was able to attend 19 of them, volunteering his time to support and give back to his community. We could not be more proud for recognizing Emery as a recipient for the 2022 Nicky Sereda Outstanding Participant Award. Thank you for being a role model to all of your teammates and most importantly, having fun on the ice. Congratulations Emery! |
