FunTeam Commemorative Sculptures
Paul Kane Art Department
At the beginning of the New Year, we asked the Art Department at Paul Kane High School to create scultptures that we could then give to our FunTeam volunteers, coaches, and influencers to commemorate all of their hard work and dedication promoting our programming. We gave them some insight as to what FunTeam did for Alberta's communities and let their creative jucies flow. What we received from them was absolutely amazing.
Pictured left is art student Sydney Herfsr. She designed her sculture to represent two whale tails:
"I chose the whale tails because mother whales are so protective of their young. I watched a documentary on them and the mothers will do anything in their power ro preotect their calfs. I have heard FunTeam alberta is a very protective, nurturing and caring organziation, which mimics a mother whale's behaviour."
The FunTeam members that are lucky to receive one of these sculptures will receive a note from one of the students explaining their sculpture's meaning and significance.
Thank you to Sydney and her classmates for designing these amazing sculptures. Thank you to Colleen Hewitt and the Paul kane Art Department for helping FunTeam give back to our community in a very creative and heartfelt way. We will be sure to share more photos of the scultpures and the lucky recipients as we honour our deserving members.
